Providence is calling a Cook (Food & Nutrition, Variable Shift, 0.3 FTE / 12 hours per week) to Providence Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, Washington. In this position you will:
Support the Performance Improvement process.
Follow and support hospital policies. Follows the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments and Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and any other organizational or departmental materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Patient-Care Positions: Consider individual needs in communication with, assessment of, and treatment of patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects to include infant through the elderly.
Regular and predictable attendance is required for all positions. Failure to meet this standard can result in progressive discipline up to and including termination.
Prepares, bakes, roasts, broils, grills and steams meat, fish, and poultry for daily menu according to department standards.
Prepare, measure and mix ingredients according to standardized recipes for sauces, soups, casseroles, vegetables and potatoes.
Trim, slice and portion meat, fish, and poultry for all food service functions according to portion control guidelines.
Label, date, and cover all food items according to policy and procedure.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Current Washington State Food Handlers permit
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
Completion of a vocational school in food service
2 years experience in Institutional Quantity Cooking
