Providence RN - Administrative Supervisor in Colville, Washington


Providence is calling an Administrative Supervisor (Nursing Administration, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE, Temporary Position ) to Providence Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Support the Performance Improvement process

  • Follow and support hospital policies. Follow the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments and Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and any other organizational or departmental materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors

  • Patient-Care Positions: Consider individual needs in communication with, assessment of, and treatment of patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects to include infant through the elderly

  • Support patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior

  • Regular and predictable attendance is required for all positions. Failure to meet this standard can result in progressive discipline up to and including termination

  • Utilize the nursing process while prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care when delivering direct patient care

  • Responsible for all hospital activities (patient care and non-patient care) in the absence of Administration

  • Serve and functions as the Acting VP of Patient care when assigned

  • Endeavor to appropriately staff units using low census and staffing guidelines

  • Coordinate shift/unit specific patient care activities including admission, transfer of patients to another unit/facility, referrals (Pastoral Care, Social Services, Community Resources)

  • Assist in procuring supplies and equipment as needed

  • Coordinate the Organ Procurement/Donation process in accordance with hospital policy

  • Assume role of patient advocate by screening new admissions and assessing patients admitted through the ER

  • Document appropriately in patient's chart and in other books/manuals as needed, (i.e. communication book, census information, etc.)

  • Perform competently and efficiently as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room, Critical Care, Labor & Delivery, and Acute Care departments

  • Recognize, assess, and report abuse appropriately

  • Participate and function effectively during emergency procedures, (i.e. Code 5, fire, disasters, etc.)

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Current RN licensure by Washington State Division of Professional Licensing

  • Current ACLS certification or actively be in the process of enrollment and certification

  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification or actively be in the process of enrollment and certification

  • 1 year Clinical experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
