Providence Social Worker - Primary Care in Spokane Valley, Washington
Providence is calling a Social Worker (Primary Care, Days, Full Time) to Providence Medical Group in Spokane Valley, Washington. In this position you will:
Interview patients and their families and coordinate and plan programs and activities to meet their physiological, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural needs.
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsible for the content of education and counseling programs for both individual patients or groups of patients and serves as liaison to community, individuals and groups as appropriate.
Counsel patients and interpret to professional and lay groups the special psychosocial needs.
Perform short term counseling and crisis intervention as necessary.
Use test, measurement, and measurement scale for general and specific assessments as well as objective patient criteria in the provision of services and evaluation procedures.
Correlate assessment findings with appropriate interventions and follow up.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) in an education program accredited by the council on social work education and approved by the secretary based upon nationally recognized standards
Two (2) years in the field or in a related area
Must be licensed as a Social Worker (“Advanced” or “Independent Clinical”) in the State of Washington (both are LW credentials), or licensed as a Counselor in the State of Washington while completing supervision requirements toward the Social Worker license
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- Two (2) years experience in an ambulatory clinic or hospital setting
