Providence Assistant Nurse Manager - Orthopedics - 1.0 FTE/Nights in Spokane, Washington
Description:
Providence is calling a Assistant Nurse Manager ( Orthopedics , Night Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. Included under the Orthopedics Dept is also Trauma, Plastic Surgery, ENT and Orthopedic Oncology. This is a large, very busy unit with 70 beds and they practice progressive, evidence-based procedures such as same day total joint replacement. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Be a role model and monitor staff performance of effective, open and honest written and verbal communication skills
Be a role model and monitor staff performance of self-management behaviors which reflect a positive image of PSHMC, following established policies and procedures and promote an efficient, cost effective work environment
Be a role model and monitor staff demonstration of good stewardship of resources by treating property of customers, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and co-workers with care and respect
Be a role model and monitor staff for working cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and other disciplines for problem solving without blaming
Be a role model and monitor staff performance that demonstrates flexibility by readily adapting to different situations to complete work
Formulate the plan of care with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team and documents desired outcomes/interventions for each problem listed on the plan of care
Implement and coordinate the prescribed medical/nursing plans of care (including teaching) to meet the desired outcomes
Evaluate problems identified on the plan of care and documents patient response at least every 24 hours
Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to maintain a logical system of planning for the most cost-effective use of resources to achieve the short and long-term objectives of the nursing unit
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in nursing
2 years experience as RN, with one year in the specialty
Prior nursing management experience
