Providence is calling an Cardiovascular Technologist (Cardiovascular, Variable, 0.0) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
•Maintains and promotes positive, open and honest interpersonal relationships with customers (physicians, employees, visitors, patients, and other PSHMC publics). Provides high quality service to all customers; focuses on understanding customers’ needs and follows through. Demonstrates respect for the capabilities, different cultures and or personalities of co-workers and Medical Center publics within the mission/values of PSHMC.
•Promotes and demonstrates effective, open and honest written and verbal communication skills.
•Demonstrates self-management behaviors which reflect a positive image of PSHMC, following established policies and procedures and promote an efficient, cost effective work environment.
•Demonstrates good stewardship of resources by treating property of customers, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and co-workers with care and respect.
•Works cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and other disciplines for problem solving without blaming.
•Demonstrates flexibility by readily adapting to different situations to complete work.
•Scrubs, monitors and circulates on the following procedures considering the age and culture of the patient:
• Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization (LHC, BHC, RHC)
• Interventional Cardiac Procedures (PTCA/Stent, Brachytherapy, Atherectomy)
• Pacemakers/Internal defibrillators
• Intra-aortic balloon
• Percutaneous balloon Valvuloplasty
• Pediatric catheterization
• Coil and closure devices
• Temporary Pacemakers
• Endomyocardial Biopsy
• Peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional studies
• Insertion arterial/venous line, central line, Swan-Ganz, Vas Cath
• Sheath removal and puncture site dressing
•Proficient in the operation and maintenance, as specified by the manufacturer, of all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used for procedures.
•Recognizes basic rhythms and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
•Cleans room, empties linen and shows proper disposal of instrument trays.
•Provides patient/family education pre- and post procedure.
•Correctly checks name and allergy bans, obtains initial patient assessment and information.
•Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of neonates (0-1 month) infants (1 month to age 1) toddlers (1-2 years), preschoolers (3-5 years), school age (6-12 years) of adolescents (ages 13-17) and adult patients including early adult (ages 18-35) middle adult (ages 36-65) and older adult (ages 66 ) patients for treatment and selects equipment/supplies considering patient’s age, size, pre-existing conditions and procedures to be performed.
•Correctly labels all medications/ drugs/ contrast on sterile table and administers medications as asked by the physician, verifying all medications.
•Able to handle emergency situations during high risk procedures.
•Able to work as a team member, assist physicians and assist with interpretation of data collected.•Notifies physician of rhythm changes during procedure.
•Knows location of procedure room equipment and supplies.
•Stock procedure rooms and maintains adequate stock levels.
•Maintains radiation safety for patient and visitors.
•Wears radiation protection and film badge consistently.
•Checks personal radiation protection (lead apron) annually, documenting results and notifying supervisor of defective equipment.
•Maintains proper sterile technique.
•Accurately documents in Cupid, Optiflex and chart.
•Accurately bills procedures and supplies.
•Correctly witnesses drug waste with CVRN.
•Transfers images to McKesson
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular TechnologyOR 5 years of experience
Must apply for and obtain a Washington State Department of Health Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification upon hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) completed annually
Basic Computer knowledge
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- EPIC experience
