Providence Health & Services Clinical Nurse Specialist – NICU in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Clinical Nurse Specialist – NICU (Hospital Administration, Day Shift, 0.9 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital in Spokane, WA. In this position you will:
Demonstrate advanced capabilities and knowledge in assessment, diagnoses, treatment and evaluation of an identified population or high-risk group to facilitate optimal outcomes.
Collaborate with directors, managers, other CNS’s, and clinical education staff in the development, maintenance and advancement of the clinical competency and professional development of the nursing staff, and the teams they work with, in areas of clinical practice within.
Translate specialty-specific evidence in the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence based practice, including policies, protocols and procedures as well as system wide education and integration of research and evidenced-based practice at the bedside.
Consult and coordinates practice and care issues for complex patients to ensure safe, timely and highest quality nursing care.
Work in collaboration with management and interdisciplinary teams to develop an ongoing strategy to assess processes and outcomes of patient care and identify opportunities for improvement.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in nursing with clinical focus
CNS Certification/diploma from an accredited clinical nurse specialist program OR will begin this program within 6 months of hire and sit for CNS certification examination
Washington state RN License
Current certification in specialty area (ie CEN, CCRN, NICU, Etc)
Current core course completions in BLS, ACLS, PALS, or NRP required as applicable to specialty
4 years clinical registered nurse experience in a level 3 or 4 NICU
2 years clinical leadership experience
