Providence Health & Services Dietitian in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Clinical Dietitian (Infusion Dept, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Infusion & Pharmacy Services in Spokane, Washington.

In this position you will:
Assess nutritional needs and identify nutrient requirements for patients on parenteral and enteral nutrition.
Coordinate safe transition, from hospital to home, for patients requiring home infusion and/or enteral therapies.
Provide hands-on education for patients going home on tube feeding.
Collaborate with medical providers and the nutritional care team to provide nutrition support recommendations for patients and families.
Perform comprehensive initial and serial nutrition assessments for all patients on nutrition support.
Monitor, evaluate, and adjust the nutrition support regimen as indicated by lab work, patient condition/tolerance, nutritional needs, and guidelines set by Medicare, Medicaid or other payer groups.
Assist staff to ensure appropriate documentation has been obtained for reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer sources.
Perform home visits as determined by the nutrition support standards of care.
Assist pharmacist, nurse, and liaison with coordinating enteral and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) patients being discharged.
Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of protocols, nutritional standards of care practice and quality improvement programs in accordance with the Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services (PIPS) mission, the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) requirements and other regulatory guidelines.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor degree in nutrition or dietetics and successfully completed the Registration Exam for Dietitians
Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration
Washington State Dietitian Certification required (for new grad or inter-state applicant, must obtain within 60 days)
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within 30 days of hire
Valid Driver's License and insured, reliable vehicle
One (1) year experience in a hospital or home infusion setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in the development of nutrition related forms, policies and procedures
