Providence Health & Services Executive Director, Regional Operations & Support - WA/MT in Spokane, Washington
The Executive Director, Regional Operations & Support reports to the Regional Chief Executive and will enable the RCE and the Regional Exec Team to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill commitments and serve the evolving needs of Providence, our patients and communities in the region.
This position is a trusted advisor and strategic operational leader that will proactively support the regional leadership team by providing effective leadership structure and operational cadence to key councils and governance bodies. Provides effective communications structures and team meeting technologies to enhance transparency between region and service areas on important areas of collaboration, enhancing team effectiveness in a complex, matrixed organization.
The Executive Director will also lead key strategic initiatives, projects and programs for the region on an as-assigned basis by the RCE. May support confidential and complex processes needed to effectively manage regional initiatives and priorities.
The successful Executive Director is a resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, analytical and project management skills and the ability to effectively influence others at all levels in the organization using collaborative skills within a matrixed environment.
At the direction of the Regional Chief Executive (RCE), independently support confidential and time sensitive issues with integrity.
Directly support the optimization, implementation and coordination of effective strategic councils and shared work structures to drive an operational cadence for regional decision making and timely achievement of key operational goals. This includes working with the executive leadership team on approach, agenda-setting, strategic conversations/planning, tracking key targets, evaluation of improvement, communication and other activities to achieve the region's objectives.
Ensure effective executive-level meetings through planning, preparation, events design and management of process for small to large scale events.
Support effective communications between leadership teams at region, service areas and across various lines of business, shared services and external stakeholders to enhance transparency on important issues.
Drive small to large scale project and programs for regional leadership team as assigned.
Apply project management skills to the coordination and execution of multiple simultaneous projects across various areas of the healthcare delivery and support systems.
Serves as a key relationship manager for the RCE.
Ensures that the priorities of the regional leadership team are being resourced appropriately from the supporting staff organizations, including direct reports as well as other team members.
Assists the regional leadership team in prioritizing work, scoping initiatives, assigning work teams, monitoring progress, suggesting corrective action, and ensuring successful implementation of management system and key strategic priorities.
Provides equivalent consultative support as requested to other PHC management groups.
Leads strategic initiatives as identified by the SET and the Regional Chief Executive.
Charters initiative with key stakeholders. Assigns research and assessment efforts.
Develops recommendation and/or action plans for the completion or resolution of such projects, including business cases / business plans.
Supervises change management, communications, and project management support. Monitors implementation and suggests corrective action as appropriate.

Required experience/education for this position include:
Master's Degree in Health Administration or Business Administration; or equivalent educ/experience
7 years of demonstrated experience in significant staff coordination in a complex healthcare delivery organization
3 years of significant experience leading teams, process group facilitation, project management, and building management systems
7 years of experience that demonstrates effectiveness in accomplishing objectives in a complex organization
7 years of experience supporting and interacting with senior management teams
Knowledge of trends and developments in healthcare organizations, functions and processes
An understanding, acceptance, and commitment to further the purposes, philosophy, and values of the Sisters of Providence health care ministry
Excellent planning and project management skills
Demonstrated ability to plan and lead meetings and workshops to accomplish specific objectives
Possess experience that demonstrates effectiveness in accomplishing objectives in a complex organization
