Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) (Sub Acute Care I, Night, 0.7 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph Care Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
Complete and file required record keeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician
Participate in employee performance evaluations, determining your shift’s staffing requirements, and making recommendations to the Nurse Supervisor concerning employee dismissals, transfers, etc
Inform nursing personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
Participate in developing, planning, conducting, and scheduling in-service training classes that provide instructions on how to do the job, and ensure a well-educated nursing service department
Monitor your assigned personnel to ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN program.
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse or LPN in this state
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- On-the-job training provided.

Providence St. Joseph Care Center in Spokane, Washington is located on the campus of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital. Our Transitional Care Unit is designed for patients coming out of the hospital who need skilled nursing care, end of life care, or rehabilitation for those recovering from surgery or who have a functional loss from illness, disease, or an accident. Our Long Term Care unit provides skilled nursing in a residential setting, addressing the needs of our residents through creating a sense of community and home and providing a model of care that is resident-centered.

About the Team
Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.
HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Our core competencies include restorative care, longitudinal care and care through the end of life. Our service lines include assisted living/skilled nursing/rehabilitation, home health, home infusion/pharmacy services, home medical equipment, hospice and palliative care, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), personal home services/private duty care and supportive housing.
