Providence Health & Services Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer (Maternal Fetal Medicine, Day Shift, 0.9 FTE with 36 hours per week) to Providence Medical Group in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Orients patient to environment, what they can anticipate, and how to get their questions answered. Inputs data into the computer, including arrival and departure transfer of films and exam scheduling.
Selects the appropriate technical factors to produce a quality diagnostic radiograph/scan, taking into account the age, anatomy, and physiology of the patient. Assists physician with biopsies, aspirations, and amniocentesis using sterile technique.
Obtains and documents patient information on the requisition from various sources (physician’s office, consulting physician, chart, etc.). Checks for written physician orders/code status/pertinent history in the patient’s chart.
Restocks the Ultrasound rooms daily and maintains the uniformity of supplies according to department procedure. Monitors the condition of supplies for serviceability, cleanliness, and expiration dates. Inspects equipment and/or supplies and stores in correct area after use.
Changes table linens after each patient using standard precautions. Cleans stretcher and equipment with LPH or designated germicidal after use. Prepares room for the next scheduled exam per department procedure. Cleans the transducer and disinfects the transducer if appropriate, after each exam.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of education program that meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) prerequisite requirements for RDMS examination.
Active registrant with the ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in assisting with the following OB procedures: chorionic villus sampling (CVS), Percutaneous Umbilical Blood Sampling (PUBS), and amniocentesis.
Experience with medical databases
