Description:

Providence is calling a Medical Assistant - Retail (Express Care, Day Shift, 0.60 FTE with 24 hours per week / 12 hour shifts) to Providence Health & Services in Airway Heights, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

• Be responsible for providing quality clinical care to patients.

• Schedule patient's appointments, as well as monitor and manage daily appointment schedules.

• Provide general information to patients including but not limited to financial policies, registration requirements, insurances, etc.

• Coordinate referral preparation, approval and distribution.

• Manage patient flow ensuring enough time for patient and family education.

• Facilitate communication between patients, providers, clinic staff, internal and external customers to support patient care .

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Graduation from a certified Medical Assistant program

• National certification as a Medical Assistant upon hire

• Possess basic knowledge of vaccines, medications, waste disposal and sterile techniques

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

• Knowledge of the use of health information technology

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• Bilingual in Spanish

• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience

• Knowledge of insurance and insurance industry practices

• 2 years clinical experience working as a Medical Assistant
