Providence is calling a Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) (Spokane Heart Institute, Full Time) to Providence Medical Group in Spokane, WA. In this position you will:
Maintains the medical records according to institutional guidelines, ensuring that all required documents and results are posted properly and timely in the patient’s record.
Assists the provider(s) in invasive and noninvasive procedures according to established guidelines (i.e. suturing, aspiration, lavages, excisions, cast application, removal and repair, etc.).
Performs clerical duties related to chart prep. May also include pending referrals and call Rx refills approved by physician.
Reports and documents any unusual patient or administrative occurrence that may have an effect on the patients’ and/or staff’s wellbeing.
Print orders from Epic and fax or send electronically to other facilities. May assist patients with appointments with other provider’s offices or facilities.
May assist with routine patient care (i.e. measure height, weight, head circumference, obtain medical history, perform routine patient screening, and perform standard vital sign measurements).
Provides care team coverage including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking in or out patients.
Ensures effective use of supplies – minimizes supply wastage. Charges appropriately for supplies used.
Ensures effective use of time – organizes and prioritizes work for optimal time management.
Adheres to established company compliance, policies, procedures and protocols.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Current Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) certification through Washington State within 60 days of hire
Knowledge of basic clinical practices, procedures and standards
Basic knowledge of computer systems and good interpersonal skills
Ability to learn, function in and pass proficiency testing following Epic training
Ability to communicate to patients, customers, co-worker or leaders via written or verbal communication
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Previous experience in clinical setting
