Providence is calling a Pharmacy Assistant (Outpatient Pharmacy, Variable, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Customer Service: Maintain and promote positive, open and honest interpersonal relationships with customers (physicians, employees, visitors, patients, and other PSHMC publics). Provides high quality service to all customers; focuses on understanding customers’ needs and follows through. Demonstrates respect for the capabilities, different cultures and or personalities of co-workers and Medical Center publics within the mission/values of PSHMC.
Communication: Promote and demonstrate effective, open and honest written and verbal communication skills.
Self-Management: Demonstrate self-management behaviors which reflect a positive image of PSHMC, following established policies and procedures and promote an efficient, cost effective work environment.
Ownership /Stewardship and Accountability: Demonstrate good stewardship of resources by treating property of customers, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and co-workers with care and respect.
Teamwork: Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and other disciplines for problem solving without blaming.
Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility by readily adapting to different situations to complete work.
Identify customer service as a top priority in the operation of the Pharmacy.
Promptly meet and greet each customer at the drop off and pick up windows of the Pharmacy.
Promptly answer the telephone if not waiting on customer at window.
Assure that patient’s address is on prescriptions dropped off for processing.
Collect 3rd party billing card or information.
When medication(s) are picked up, selects correct patient file on computer, finds correct medication location and verifies that all medications in bag are for patient.
Offer patient opportunity to get drug counseling from the pharmacist. Promptly notifies pharmacist if patient is waiting for counseling.
Use cash register and makes change correctly.
Promptly report any problems with receipt of medications, cash registers or sign pads to the OP Supervisor, Pharmacist in Charge or Lead Technician.
Obtain all signatures required by law on electronic signature pads.
Assist in receiving, tagging, organizing and placing medications in correct location in Pharmacy.
Assist in ordering, receiving and restocking supplies in the Pharmacy.
Clean, dust and wash glass and front counters of Pharmacy at least daily.
Assist in dusting drug storage areas and keeping work areas neat and orderly.
Relay messages for OP Supervisor, Pharmacist or technician in a timely manner.
Complete drug stock outdate checks quarterly.
Maintain OTC medication par levels.
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED
Pharmacy Assistant License, or eligible for certification (to be completed in 30 days from hire)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Retail experience.
