In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Accurately fills and exchanges medication cassettes daily. Filled cassettes are always checked by RPH before exchange.
Acts as messenger in pick-up of orders and delivery of medications. Collects new orders and patient credits to return to Pharmacy for processing. Anticipates this need and/or performs upon RPH request in a timely manner.
Accurately fills orders for Rehab departments upon request in a timely manner and performs order entry with subsequent verification by a Pharmacist.
Accurately restocks Pyxis dispensing machines by printing restock lists, accurately signs out controlled substances, inventories Pyxis machines, empties return bins in Pyxis, and reviews Pyxis discrepancy reports.
Accurately prepares pass medications, upon receipt of nursing order by printing of labels, selection of drug and number of doses ordered, and sets up for pharmacist to check.
Demonstrates aseptic technique in IV mixing; accurately labels admixtures (date/time mixed, expiration date, initials, accurate dispense quantity on label), and records in I.V. log/mixing book; cleans I.V. hood and documents on daily cleaning log.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
Valid Washington State Pharmacy Technician license
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Work experience in a hospital environment preferred, but not required
