Providence RN - Infusion Coordinator in Spokane, Washington


Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Home & Ambulatory Infusion Coordinator (Pharmacy Home Infusion, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE, 8 Hour Shifts) to Providence Infusion & Pharmacy Services in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Integrate the PSJH mission, corevalues (Integrity, Compassion, Justice, Excellence, and Dignity), Vision and Promise into daily interactions and care activities.

  • Support and contribute to a positive work environment that encourages growth, team collaboration and caregiver retention.

  • Provide in-home infusion and ambulatory infusion referral and intake coordination, education, administration, monitoring and support to onboard and help patients reach therapy goals.

  • Providence dignified and compassionate infusion-related triage and coordination for patients of all ages and other stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate clinical quality and safety, operational excellence, and financial stewardship for home and ambulatory infusion nursing services.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people. Such people may include but are not limited to: all facility/agency caregivers, physicians, community service groups, state agencies, patients/clients and their family members, visitors, outside vendors, contracted staff and Providence St. Joseph Health caregivers.

  • Practice at the top of your license while providing the highest quality clinical services and best practices.

  • Respond to incoming calls from patients, families, physicians, and referral sources, providing general information about home infusion services in response to inquiries. Collect sufficient and appropriate referral information to determine prospective patients’ service needs.

  • Assign and coordinate referrals to the appropriate nurse, taking into consideration caseload availability, geographic areas, staff skill level and expertise.

  • Assign and coordinate referrals to outside nursing agencies.

  • Be responsible for the completion of the Delegation/Coordination of Care and Plan of Treatment (when applicable).

  • Maintain close communication with Nurse Scheduler regarding patient visit needs.

  • Participate as resource for Nurse, Pharmacist and Dietitian Clinicians.

  • Maintain close communications with Pharmacist and Dietitians regarding clinical needs of patient.

  • Maintain close communications with Hospital Liaisons, hospital-based Nurse Clinicians, Hospice Coordinators and other referral sources in relationship to issues around patient referrals, discharge plans, and visit needs.

  • Maintain close communications with Admission Assistants for authorizations and updates.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing

  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license

  • CPR certification

  • 2 years direct clinical experience

  • Thorough knowledge of and proficiency in nursing principles, process, and procedures

  • Effective problem solving, communication, and organizational skills are required

  • General home care knowledge and skill

  • Customer service skills

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year office experience in health care setting

  • 1 year of home infusion field experience

  • Computer experience with infusion software, electronic medical records (EPIC), Microsoft Word, and Excel

  • Knowledge of the practice of IV therapy
