Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) - Mechanical Heart Coordinator (Pshi Adv Heart Disease And Txp, DayShift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Customer Service: Maintain and promote positive, open and honest interpersonal relationships with customers (physicians, employees, visitors, patients, and other SHMC publics). Provide high quality service to all customers; focuses on understanding customers’ needs and follows through. Demonstrate respect for the capabilities, different cultures and or personalities of co-workers and Medical Center publics within the mission/values of SHMC
Communication: Promote and demonstrate effective, open and honest written and verbal communication skills
Self Management: Demonstrate self-management behaviors which reflect a positive image of SHMC, following established policies and procedures and promote an efficient, cost effective work environment
Ownership /Stewardship and Accountability: Demonstrate good stewardship of resources by treating property of customers, Sacred Heart Medical Center and co-workers with care and respect
Teamwork: Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and other disciplines for problem solving without blaming
Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility by readily adapting to different situations to complete work
PATIENT ACTIVITIES – PRE IMPLANT:
Receive referrals from transplant surgeon/s for ventricular assist device evaluation and reports referrals to team members.
Assess candidate and family for level of understanding and ability to learn. Notify team for appropriate consultations and evaluations.
Maintain timely and effective communications within and outside of Sacred Heart systems and monitors patient progress for appropriate intervention.
Accurately maintain patient chart with current medical data and assesses patient compliance.
Monitor admissions to hospital, perform inpatient rounds, review chart, collect pertinent data, and identify issues that may affect patient care, to include discharge planning.
Provide clinical and technical support to MDs and RNs in the operating room during VAD implant. Able to provide emergent evaluation and resolution of problems while in the O.R.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Licensure to practice as an Registered Nurse in the state of Washington
Five (5) years of acute care nursing experience
