Description:
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) (Palliative Care, Days, 0.5 with 20 hours per week) to Providence Medical Group in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Support and practice the “Spirit of Excellence”.
Consider individual and team needs in communication with, and assessment and treatment of patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects, to include adult and the elderly.
Support patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior.
Assist with, or performs, according to scope of practice, a timely assessment of patients, according to policies, procedures, and protocols, taking into account age/developmental stage.
Assist with, or performs, according to scope of practice, patient care activities/treatments, according to departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
Coordinate necessary tasks involved in treatment delivery.
Evaluate and assess treatment delivery components to include pain management.
Evaluate and assesse daily the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient to treatment delivery and documents such care.
Manage rapidly changing situations and is flexible in the changing work environment.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
3 years of nursing experience
3 years of Oncology, medical-surgical, geriatric, critical care, palliative care, and/or nursing care of the terminally ill patient
Conflict resolution
Experience in collaboration
RN licensure in the state of Washington
Hospice and Palliative Care Certification is desirable
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
B achelor's degree in Nursing
Master's dgree in Nursing
Experience in adult nursing
3 years of nursing experience in oncology and supportive care in the inpatient or out-patient setting
Clinical nursing care in ICU, oncology, medical-surgical, palliative care nursing and/or hospice
Experience in providing patient and staff education
Experience in grief counseling and crisis intervention
