Providence Security Services Manager in Spokane, Washington
Description:
Providence is calling a Security Services Manager (Security, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Remain visible and interface directly with senior leadership, core leaders, physicians, caregivers and stakeholders in a manner which reflects Providence’s mission and core values.
Serve as an advisor to leadership on security issues related to the physical environment; Keeps stakeholders and leadership informed and involved; Educates patients, visitors, and caregivers on security’s procedures as needed; serves on requested committees to promote increased security awareness; constantly monitors and evaluates services on an ongoing basis; and sets an example of extraordinary customer service to security supervisors and officers.
Perform site assessments and ensure that security operations are compliant with Security Services policies, procedures, and reporting requirements required by The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, and other state/local regulations.
Hire, coach, and, when necessary, terminate caregivers; remain objective when dealing with personnel issues; seeks input and provides consistent and timely feedback; remains accessible and visible to caregivers; communicates consistently with caregivers; coordinates and participates in security training and development programs; and ensures adequate security staffing coverage. Provides leadership and support to campus and non-campus security personnel.
Recommend and participate in the development of security policy and procedures; establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; and creates changes required for improvements.
Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced caregivers.
Manage multiple projects including very complex, high risk projects and projects with demanding stakeholders to ensure required deliverables are met.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration or related field or equivalent educ/experience
8 years experience in law enforcement, security, or related field, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity
Extensive computer and systems experience related to department operations, campus security, safety and staffing
Valid driver license with good driving record
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Healthcare security experience
Industry recognized certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification from ASIS International, Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) from IAHSS
