Providence Health & Services Transplant Program Assistant in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Transplant Program Assistant ( Pshi Adv Heart Disease And Txp , Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Enters the new patient referral into EPIC. Enters patient information into EPIC and Phoenix.
Serves as a first line resource for patients and assists in facilitating the patient through the transplant, VAD, and general clinic process.
In conjunction with established guidelines and oversight from the transplant and VAD coordinators and physicians, determine if a patient is suitable to schedule for interval visits or an evaluation.
Obtains medical records, collates the patient chart, and prepares medical records for scanning.
Completes comprehensive multidisciplinary team scheduling.
Enters patient information into UNet (national database for UNOS), and validates all regulatory documentation is sent to the patient, the outlying providers and care partners, and referring provider.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree or equivalent education/experience
High School graduate or equivalent.
3 years in a related field or similar position in a hospital or physician practice.
The candidate must be able to deal effectively with the public and have excellent customer service skills. The candidate must have critical thinking skills to make assessments based on information provided by the patient. The candidate must be highly computer proficient including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel. EPIC/Phoenix skills highly desired. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, have excellent language skills, and the ability to formulate comprehensive documentation and correspondence. The candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize work appropriately. The candidate must be able to work well with a multidisciplinary team.
